Can I request custom-made toys?

Yes, we do make custom toys and love hearing your ideas! Please note that during the busy Christmas season, we might not have time for custom orders, but we'll let you know if that's the case.

What kind of finish do you use on your toys?

We use certified non-toxic paint that meets EN71-3 (EU Standard) or Art & Creative Material Institute Certified (North America Standard). Our toys are also finished with a locally made, non-toxic beeswax finish.

Can I request a custom pen or pencil?

Yes, we would love to create a custom pen or pencil for you. We offer over 30 species of wood from around the world and more than 40 different acrylic colors. Email us to discuss your preferences and arrange your custom order.

What mediums do you work with to make your pens and pencils?

The Friendly Woodworker uses beautiful woods from around the world, as well as acrylics. He stocks over 30 species of wood and over 40 different colour variations of acrylic. He is sure to have something you need.

Do you offer a warranty on your pens or pencils?

Accepted Answer

Then pens purchased from The Friendly Woodworker are warrantied for 30 days for defects from date of shipping. The Friendly Woodworker does not warranty a pen or pencil if there are any signs of abuse.

Do your pens take refills?

Accepted Answer

Yes, all the pens take either a Cross style refill or a Parker style refill. Refills can be purchased from the The Friendly Woodworker in the accessories section of the shop, or at most office supply companies.

What if I have an issue with a pen or pencil?

Accepted Answer

The Friendly Woodworker takes great pride in workmanship and only uses quality pen hardware and finishes.  However, if you have any issues with a pen within the 30 Day Warranty Period, please notify us.
 
We will be pleased to determine the problem and either fix it or replace the pen at no cost to you.

Do you make anything besides pens and pencils?

No, we have a fully equipped woodworking shop. We also create non-toxic wooden toys, games, and unique gift ideas.

What is the shipping cost?

Here at theThe Friendly Woodworker we ship Canada wide. We can give you a quote on shipping by simply contacting us. We do not make money on shipping. We charge what is costs us,

What payment methods do you accept?

The Friendly Woodworker accepts  e-transfer or we can generate an invoice using Square that you can pay via debit or credit card. To order please email us and we can confirm your order and arrange payment.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Do you accept larger orders? I would like to give pens or pencils as gifts to staff and family.

Yes, we would love to provide you with handmade pens or pencils as gifts for your team or family.

What do I get with a Classic series pen?

With each Classic series pen purchased you will recieve the pen, a Classic series pen box and a suede pen sleeve that will protect your pen while on the go.  Below is an example of a Classic series pen with chrome finish.

With a Premium pen purchase, you receive the pen, a deluxe pen box, and a suede pen sleeve to protect your pen on the go. Below is an example of a Premium pen with a two-tone chrome finish and maple burl.
